Annual Charity Dinner

After 45 years we know how to throw a good do!

The Charity dinner attended by over 200 guests each year has grown considerably and in 2025 we are seeking additional support to maximise funds raised and support more people and good causes across Merseyside. Check out the Charity Dinner page here for information. The staff of the Merseyside Police Federation work extremely hard throughout the year to bring this event together, which has become increasingly popular and successful in raising funds for our nominated charity which changes each year.

In 2025 we have changed how we fund the event and are seeking much needed sponsorship which will enable us to maximise the support we offer to the nominated charity.

2025's Nominated charity

The trustees have selected The Oliver King Foundation

The Oliver King Foundation was set up by Mark King in 2011 after the tragic loss of his son Oliver during a swimming lesson in school. Oliver suffered a cardiac arrest, and it was later con?rmed he had a condition called SADS. It was Mark's aim to never have another family go through and suffer like he did and so the foundation began. Mark began to raise awareness about Sudden Arrhythmic Death Syndrome (SADS) and advocate for access to de?brillators in schools.

After 11 years with resilience and commitment The Oliver King Foundation were able to collect over 100,000 signatures to get into Parliament and be heard. With dedication and tenacity along with the support from local and UK Members of Parliament they finally reached their goal of ensuring all UK state schools would have access to defibrillators. With the support of The Department of Education to date over 20,500 defibrillators have been delivered to all UK state schools as of last summer, 2023, which is a signi?cant achievement.

The Oliver King Foundation now wish to extend the availability of defibrillators to all public places and to establish an ECG Testing and Wellness Centre. A place to provide a space for testing, support and wellness which is crucial in addressing potential heart conditions and offering assistance and support for both survivors and their families.
