Christmas Hampers

It would be great to think we aren’t needed at such a happy time but this is often when hardship, fear and violence is at its worst.  Every year, at the beginning of November as Christmas approaches, we open our ‘Christmas Fund’ and encourage our Subscribing members and staff to submit applications to us for an award of either a food hamper, or retail vouchers, or both.

Over 120 food hampers and over £10,000 worth of retail gift cards are donated and handed over by our members to victims of crime and vulnerable victims in the community, most of which are elderly people. This cannot replace or repair situations where loss or harm has happened, but it is an act of kindness from ourselves and our members to people living in sometimes very difficult situations.

In addition to this, the Trust has also been able to provide a vast amount of toys for children living in refuge centres who may have never received a gift and selection boxes for Christmas parties held for underprivileged children.

Our Christmas fund has grown in popularity over the years and we now receive in excess of 200 applications.

All applications must of course comply with Charitable Trust Criteria, therefore, please make sure you follow our basic criteria to ensure the application is suitable :

1. The beneficiary resides in Merseyside.
2. There is evidence of loss, harm or distress to the beneficiary.
3. A hamper or voucher is a suitable award.

Due to ever increasing demand applications will only be accepted from subscribing members of the Charitable Trust Lottery

The monthly awards are on hold during December, you can still make an application but no decision will be made until January.
